The Results Are In!

Weight loss this week, 2.2 lbs. Not Fabulous, but not horrible either. Am I way to hard on myself, or what?

There is a reason...About 3 weeks ago I went to my "annual" appointment and my doctor noticed that my thyroid was enlarged. This happened about 6 months post-partum with Pink and here we are again with it happening 6 months post-partum with Blue. I went to the Endocrinologist this week and she says, "yes, your thyroid is profusely enlarged." Nice! I went in to the lab and had blood work and have to schedule an ultrasound.

The blood work came back today and my levels are pretty off. She is starting me on thyroid medication and I am having my ultrasound this coming week. All will be OK, just trying to get things back to normal with the help of meds. Hopefully this will get my weight loss back on track.

How boring is an ultrasound of your neck? I can't help but think I am going to see a baby on that screen but all I am going to see is a big goiter on my neck. Fun times!

Leo and I are off to the River tomorrow for a fun day of floating the River and camping with our friends, Anne and Josh. Pictures and many fun stories to follow. Thank you, Mimi! We are so blessed to have you watch the kidos. I pray that God is good to you tomorrow, or should I pray that Pink is good to you?

Have a great weekend, Toodles!

Blue is Still Blue!

I almost feel like I have to document this because they are going to change any day. I love my brown-eyed girl more than anything, but am still in disbelief that I have a blue-eyed boy! Could it be, could they stay blue? You be the judge....

Toodles!

It Was a Happy Monday!

I get to the office about 10 till 8 and I UN-lock the doors expecting it to be a regular day. At 8:00 am on the dot D (the owner) walks in. I look at my watch and look at him with a "what are you doing here" kind of look. He is already going 90 miles an hour on his cell phone. I start thinking, "was there a storm last night that I have not heard about?" He ends his phone call and yells, "We got hail in Denver, Ladies!"

As many of you know our business thrives on Natural Disasters. The guys and gals have been hoping for hail in Denver for about 4 years since the last one. Apparently when it hails in Denver, business is Good! Not to mention, everyone loves living there during the horribly hot months here in Texas.

We are still slammed in the office from the hail storm that hit Austin in March. We all kind of sat there and watched the excitement and craziness unfold. The phones were ringing off the hook, the salesmen were rushing in about the hit the road to make that 18-hour drive and we were all still trying to get in the groove of a Monday morning.

I started running my reports. I updated the boards in and around the office. I went to take a seat at my desk and D and L (the owners) called me in their office. I kind of got this sick feeling in my stomach because I remembered the last time I called someone in their office (referring to the older post about playing boss lady that fires people). I went and sat in front of L and we just started talking about her upcoming delivery of their 3rd child while D finished his phone call. He finishes his phone call and then just says, "L and I had a long conversation, about 10 minutes, about you last night and we are giving you a raise." I was so taken aback that I just kind of stared at them like a deer in headlights. Then they told me how much and I really could not speak. Finally, in my professional career has someone noticed the hard work I put forth and I am being rewarded. Holy Raise, and on a Monday! What a great start to a wonderful week!

Please don't think I am being selfish when I speak so much about how happy I am for the Hail in Denver. I am not happy for the damage and inconvenience the homeowners and business owners have endured in the Denver/Arvada area. I have definitely been saying my prayers for them as well.

Good Night and Toodles!

Family Pictures

Saturday we went and saw our fabulous photographer, Anne. She has always done such great work with the kids. She has no problems getting them to smile and she is about as quick as any parent needs a photographer to be with two babies/toddlers. Here are some of the pictures, for your viewing pleasure.

This photo session was intended to be Blue's 6 month pictures and a family picture session. Mission Accomplished. I think she got some great ones of the family and definitely some great ones of my not so little man!

And We're Back!

So, we got the new camera in today. Yay, I am so excited to finally have a camera again. I feel like I have missed out on so much of the kids lives in the last couple weeks.
We had been using our first digital camera. We received this camera as a wedding gift. In the digital camera world, nearly 5 years is OLD!

Friday night I went and spent some time with Charlotte. We hung out, ordered pizza and watched some TV. I finally got to see my little Case and Carter's nursery, adorable, of course. I could not help but hurt for her. She looks so great for having two babies in there but I also remember how hard it was carrying around all that extra weight those last few weeks (Praise the GOOD Lord she is on her way to 35 weeks this Thursday). I am so excited that these boys have stayed put in there all this time, when not expected to, but Lord, give this mama some relief SOON! Love you, Char!

When I walked in the door that night Leo was on the couch. I walked in to the kitchen to get some water and he told me to turn on the camera and look at the last picture taken.
Pink once again found my mascara. The good news is he found her before it got too far out of control. but not quick enough to stop her completely. Also, I must add, the more practice she gets, the better she applies it. Not quite sure how I feel about that.

Saturday after our family pictures Leo went to play golf with Fernando. I was lying on the couch with Blue and Pink was in the kitchen (supposed to be eating her fruit). I heard the freezer door open and I asked her what she was doing. She did not answer. I asked her again what she was doing. She finally answered, "Nothing, Mommy." I continued to go about my business with Blue. After another 5 minutes pass and I start to think that things are awfully quiet in the kitchen. I call her name and hear something hit the counter and she comes running in to the living room. She comes and stands right in front of me.

(Sorry for the nudity, we had taken off her shirt before we gave the red capri sun a try.)I ask her what she was doing and she just starts speaking a whole lot of gibberish. I ask her again what she was doing in the kitchen. She looks me right in the eye and says, "Nothing, Mommy." I asked her if she had eaten a Popsicle and she definitely told me no! Huh, What!?!?! Is my 2 year old lying to me already? I got up from the couch and I walked in the kitchen and this is what I found.

I found a half eaten cherry push up pop melting out of the cardboard dispenser on the counter (I also have a picture of this).

We had another first this weekend. Pink and Blue were lying on the couch together cracking each other up. I thought it was the cutest thing ever so I walk in the kitchen to grab the camera to take a video. Pink did not know I was coming in with the camera set on video and this is what I caught. Don't forget to pause the music on the bottom before viewing.

Has the torturing begun? My poor, little monkey does not stand a chance!

What is the moral of this blog? Although they may be terrible twos, they are also definitely hilarious twos. Toodles!
