Yes, I'm Back!

So, this weeks weigh in was so much better than the last two! I lost 2.6 lbs!!! My goal was 3 but of course I want to do it the healthy way. So, I am officially patting myself on the back right now.

I am on day 5 of the "5 Weeks to the 5K" and I have already missed a running day. I just plan on carrying on like I never missed it at all. I will run 2 miles tomorrow morning. Ugh, I am not looking forward to that, but I will tell you, since losing these 17 lbs, it is so much easier to run, so much easier. I enjoy it again!

The In-Laws are in town this weekend so I know it will be easy to deter from my "lifestyle change" and running program, but this is where I need to test my self control. I will let you know how that goes.

Nothing much else to really write about at the current time.

Oh, I do want to send a special Congratulations to Minnie on Baby Reese that was born on 5/22/2009 and a special Congratulations to Cindy on Baby Katelyn that was born on 5/27/2009. Looks like the girl boom continues....

5 Weeks to a 5K

Tonight was the beginning of a new adventure. I am planning on participating in a mini-triathlon in August. I will have to run, bike, and swim. While reading "Runners" magazine I found this amazing article that must have been placed there just for me.

Tonight was day 1. You are given the option of a rest or a 20 minute walk. I chose to walk. I went out 30 minutes before the "Jon and Kate Plus 8" season premiere. I got in 10 minutes before the show. I walked 1.25 miles in that time. I hope to gain a major endurance and be walking more than 2 miles in this time allotment. Tomorrow night is a 10 minute run.

Stay Tuned, Toodles!

What's Going on with "Pink?"

Pink is going through so many changes as a little person right now. She is definitely settling in as her own and we are thoroughly enjoying it. Her vocabulary is skyrocketing immensely. She thinks she has it all figured out. She is a HAM!

Everyone says we timed the two kids perfectly because of jealously. Well, I definitely think she never showed any signs of jealousy towards her brother until the past weeks. This is how we found her yesterday afternoon while Blue was napping...

Pink has found a new love for photography. She has figured out how to turn the camera on and off. She knows how to look in to the lens and snap the picture, she has not quite figured out the whole digital screen thing yet. She takes some really good ones and then there are the ones we are still trying to figure out her view, we'll get there. Here is a little gallery of her work...

Now I would like to take a moment of silence for the "fallen" camera. April 2007 to May 2009. You were a great camera and we loved you very much. We will miss you and are so sorry for the way you went. Pink didn't mean to break you, she loved you so much. May you rest in peace.
We are definitely in the market for a new camera, any suggestions?
Toodles!

What's Going on with "Blue?"

I know the Blog title is all about "Pink" and "Blue" but it seems that as of lately there is just so much more going on. I decided to take some time and fill you all in on the goings on in our household with the kids. I am making two separate posts for each child. Starting with Blue...

Blue has been teething so bad lately. He constantly has a finger, thumb, or whole fist in his mouth gnawing away. We have not seen or felt any teeth coming in, but we know they are coming soon.
Blue is still as happy and healthy as he has been form the get go. He is constantly smiling at his sister. She cracks him up more than anything or anyone. He laughs out loud when she speaks, he giggles and shys up when she kisses his forehead and he gazes at her when she is in the room. I hope this love continues but then again I am a realist, ha!
Blue's favorite thing to do right now is hang out in his excersaucer. It is so funny how different Pink and Blue have been as babies. Pink was not a huge fan of the excersaucer but Blue loves it. Here are a couple pictures to see them both. Although she may seem content, it only lasted for about 2 minutes. We can put Blue in it and he entertains himself for 20 minutes, plus.

Think we have learned much from baby one to baby two? Ha! Obviously Pink was not quite ready for the excersaucer. So, who is to say whether she would have liked it if we would have given her time, right?!?

What else? Oh, Blue has mastered pretty much all of the Gerber stage 1 foods. He is not a fan of peas quite yet, but neither was his sister. Also, we have not tried prunes. In my eyes, those things things are a laxative and if any member of this family does not need that, it is Blue. So, I was reading about the eating habits of a baby his age/size and it said something about introducing stage 1 meats at this time. I went to Target and found some chicken and gravy and some turkey and gravy. I thought this would be a good idea, what do you think?

Thank you for tuning in, be right back with the Pink update, Toodles!
