It Was a Happy Monday!

I get to the office about 10 till 8 and I UN-lock the doors expecting it to be a regular day. At 8:00 am on the dot D (the owner) walks in. I look at my watch and look at him with a "what are you doing here" kind of look. He is already going 90 miles an hour on his cell phone. I start thinking, "was there a storm last night that I have not heard about?" He ends his phone call and yells, "We got hail in Denver, Ladies!"

As many of you know our business thrives on Natural Disasters. The guys and gals have been hoping for hail in Denver for about 4 years since the last one. Apparently when it hails in Denver, business is Good! Not to mention, everyone loves living there during the horribly hot months here in Texas.

We are still slammed in the office from the hail storm that hit Austin in March. We all kind of sat there and watched the excitement and craziness unfold. The phones were ringing off the hook, the salesmen were rushing in about the hit the road to make that 18-hour drive and we were all still trying to get in the groove of a Monday morning.

I started running my reports. I updated the boards in and around the office. I went to take a seat at my desk and D and L (the owners) called me in their office. I kind of got this sick feeling in my stomach because I remembered the last time I called someone in their office (referring to the older post about playing boss lady that fires people). I went and sat in front of L and we just started talking about her upcoming delivery of their 3rd child while D finished his phone call. He finishes his phone call and then just says, "L and I had a long conversation, about 10 minutes, about you last night and we are giving you a raise." I was so taken aback that I just kind of stared at them like a deer in headlights. Then they told me how much and I really could not speak. Finally, in my professional career has someone noticed the hard work I put forth and I am being rewarded. Holy Raise, and on a Monday! What a great start to a wonderful week!

Please don't think I am being selfish when I speak so much about how happy I am for the Hail in Denver. I am not happy for the damage and inconvenience the homeowners and business owners have endured in the Denver/Arvada area. I have definitely been saying my prayers for them as well.

Good Night and Toodles!
